I got a Delco Remy Alternator at a boot sale.Itis marked 1101140 and N209D.
An extended Internet search for a wiring diagram did not bring me any results.
It has a connector with 4 pins. The connector is marked PL FS as shown in picture:

On a bench test I found out that if I connect the second pin (corresponding to the L of the PL marking) to the battery positive pole the alternator starts producing 14.7 volt.
Does anyone know what the function of the other pins is?

Here is a link that explains the pin outs and even mentions conversion plugs etc. Scroll down the page about 1/2 way and you'll see the PLFS wiring stuff. Good luck.
