Having learned to drive way back in the mid 60's on our 52 GMC farm truck, along with it having the distinction of being the first vehicle I put in the ditch at the tender age of 8 on a back country road, I felt it was only fitting to bring the ol' girl back to life. After the truck was replaced with a "new" 75 Dodge, it was cut up a bit and fitted with a chemical spray tank for the next 20 years of service. All in all, most of the body was actually in pretty good shape, but the rear fenders had been pretty well toasted by cattle rubbing on them, as were numerous other parts.
Five and a half weeks ago, we pulled the ol girl into the shop and began tearing down to the frame, and started rebuilding from there. Not quite done yet...still have the interior to finish up this week, but she's looking pretty nice. We're calling her Midnight Rose...

That is a great looking 3/4ton truck. Mine doesn't ride that low,but going to try and get it a little lower in the rear. Thanks for sharing.

Yea, but there were 3-4 guys working on it quite a bit of the time. We were riding out a bit of a lull in orders, and I thought it would be a bit of a change of pace to run this through and give them something different to fill some excess production time. Only one, the one who did the paint/body work, has had much experience building rods. I worked on it as much as I could, but the majority was done by these metalworkers. I'm pretty proud of the job they did...
