Hi Folks,

Do you know what type of optional Budd wheels there is on a 58 Spartan? I know Dayton are original but this one has Budd style wheels and it's 10 lug wheels but what is the original size, stud or hub piloted, and what bolt pattern.

Thanks in adv
Dyna

Hy dyn_ares, okay, kind of a complicated question to answer, "Budd" wheels are all stud piloted, the pattern is ten holes on an 11.25 bolt circle. This is the same pattern as the semi-truck Budd wheels. In 1956 Chevrolet made tubeless tires standard throughout the line, as you know Dayton wheels were standard, and 22.5" tubless tires were standard. On tubless Budd wheels the width was 7.5". Tubeless tires were not very accepted at the time, and a lot of people paid the extra money for the more accepted tube type tires, that rim width was either 7.0" or 7.5" depending on tire [tyre] width, I hope that helps.
