Been thinking of putting TBI on an inline I'm getting from a friend of mine. It runs excellent since a fairly recent overhaul. How hard would it be to put TBI on my six since I already have TBI on my 87 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4? :confused: I'm told that if I figure out the distributor it should work. Would a 4.3 Dist work. I'm not sure if it will fit or not. I think they are different. Would the parts from a TBI 4.3 distributor interchange with an HEI dist for the inline? Would I use one injector or use a Cilfford manifold and a adapter plate or? Henry

If the donor truck was a 8 cyl, you'll need to get a calpak from a 6 cyl truck, or the limp-home mode won't work correctly, among other tidbits. nce you have a HEI, switching it over to a computer controlled timing is a matter of wiring in the control mudule from a 88-92 4.3. Do you know what the codes are on the outside of your ECM? What year truck and engine model is the donor?

Hey Mike Vee, I will have to look at the computer code tomorrow afternoon. I'm not too sure where it is located. Probably on the passengers side under the dash. I'll try to get the code from it. Don't know what the codes mean. Its 8:40 pm right now. The truck I'm putting the engine in is an 87 Chevy 1/2 Ton 4x4 with a TBI 350. It has the letter K as the engine code. Its a non California truck thank God. Its in super nice condition. Henry
