well i took off the oil pan to try to free up the crank shaft but it wont come offf all the way becuase the tie rod is in the way so im tryin to take that off but it wont budge anyone have and secrets to share? im new at theis whole restoration thing!!

Jack the front of the truck up and the pan should clear the dropped axle.
Or, for the tie rod, soak the plugs threads in the end with PB Blast/Kroil/WD40/ATF+Acetone or any of your favorite penetrating oil, pull the cotter pin and use an impact driver with the proper size drag link socket and back out the plug, then you can remove your tie rod from the ball.

On my '38 the easiest thing to do is unbolt one side of the cross member at the back of the engine & swing it away.
