I have a 52 3/4 ton pick-up with a 57 235 motor. I have the old granny 4 speed. I friend offered me a 5-speed overdrive transmission out of a full size chevy truck (v6) about 1991 or 92. Will it fit my motor? It sure would be great to have an overdrive. Any help would be appreciated.

If it has the bell housing as part of the trans. it wont work. The T-5 from a s-10 will work.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Does anyone know what model transmission I have been offered. All I know is that it is a 5 speed with overdrive and came out of a fullsize chevy PU of 90-02 vintage with a V6 motor.
