| | | | Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 84 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 84 | I had my valve cover off to fix a clacking rocker and a different one was gushing oil about 2-4 inches in the air (depending on rpm), out of the engine and onto the floor.
I just had the rockers apart last week. I cleaned everything and put it back together exactly as it was.
When I did the initial valve adjustment everything was oiling as expected, even when up to running temp and full pressure
Is this normal?

Where the oil holes on the rocker arm tubes on the top or one the bottom?

I already went through that issue when half the rockers holes were up and the other half down. I'm wondering if you have 1958 or earlier rockers, or at least the one that squirts.
Starting in 1959 Chev moved the groove inside each rocker 1/4" off center so it did not line up with the supply hole.
If 1950-58 rockers are used on a 1959-62 engine they can squirt, that is where the drilled head bolt comes in to stop this.
