My 1936 high cab 1/2 ton that i am working on has no shocks. Was this an option or are they just missing? If i do need them , does sum one have a picture on how they mount front and rear.Thank you for any help . Tom

Tom, I have a restored high cab '36 also. Somewhere I have a list of options and I think the shocks are listed. The same shocks fit '36-'49. I can look for that list if you like.

I can also take pictures of the shocks and their links to the axles but I have no computer skills and I don't know how to post pictures here. I can email them to you. My email is [email protected].

I also recently converted my '36 from 4.11 to 3.55 gears using only OEM Chevy parts, no expensive aftermarket stuff, if that interests you.

I am rebuilding a 38 Master and it has single acting shocks. I found a place called Chassis Engineering that makes a bolt on kit with regular shocks, for the front. I bought the kit and it was really reasonable. Chassis Engineering I think they list the kit for the car but the truck may be similar. You may want to have a look at their web page.

Not a bad price. I use the '39 straight axle shock mounts to convert mine. Either way requires a bit of fab because the frame isn't drilled for the tube shock mounts (upper).
