I what to put a 12 bolt axle under my 59, what width do I need if I'm running 245/60's on 8" rally wheels. What doaner vehicle should I be looking for. I want around 3.40 ratio.

Depends on the wheel offset, where you want the wheels to sit in the wheel wells etc.
Get a tape measure, pad and pencil, maybe a helper and a few beers and scope 'em out.

Will your donor need to be 5 lug or six lug...

if the old rears out,stick the wheels under the truck and measure between the centers.
