Hello, I got lucky and found this truck 5 miles from home. In the early 80's I found a 46 1.5 Ton in a hay field that had been sitting for 7 years. Points, plugs, battery, roter, and oil change, then drove it for the next 5 years. I always wished I had hung onto that truck. This 41 had been sitting idle on a ranch outside of town for over 60 years! Every nut/bolt is rusted to the point it seems welded. Hence the love/hate remark. It's all there except for the "Langlois" flatbed it came with. I might try to track it down. There is rust in the bottom of the doors, and a couple of spots on the rear of the cab where it was dented, and some in the door sills. The 235 is froze. I have diesel fuel in the cylinders and crankcase. I hope to revive this engine. So far, i've got the hood off, gas tank out, and the original wheels in to get powder coated and new tires installed, (gonna cost 2 grand for the tires!). I hope to "dovetail" the bed, and make a local car hauler out of it. I'm also in the process of converting to 12 volt.
Thanx for stopping by, any input would be greatly appreciated. ~marc
