Whats up fellow bolters? Any of you fellas know which way the holes face on the rocker arm shafts on a 235?
One side has more holes than the other. I had to replace 4 mounting bracketrs because they were cracked all the way to the bottom! dang

The side of the rocker arms with the more holes go up! The big holes are for the bolts, The small holes line up with the holes in the rockers to push the oil out the top. If the holes are down, there will be no oil coming out of the 12 rockers and you'll wreck stuff.

Lode51,

Check out the three holes for the posts in the shaft shown in the Shop Manual. The "oil feeder" holes are on the bottom.

If you look inside of each rocker you will see a groove that will carry the oil around the shaft and out the vent hole. If you put the shaft holes on top you will see oil squirting out the vent holes and flood the top leading to oil consumption.

Thanks Dave. YOU ARE RIGHT! You saved me a big headache. I just posted a question regarding only one side of the rockers oiling on Wednesday. The advice I got was to put the holes up. I didn't have the valve cover back on yet so it worked out perfect. I went straight out at 10:30 at night to switch them over. Thanks
