Im having trouble finding the correct distributor cap for my 53 gmc 100 with the 228 inline 6. I ordered the "GMC" cap from American Classic Truck parts but it's too shallow the one I have on my truck is MUCH deeper. also i'm having trouble finding the dwell settings for the points for it. I put it roughly .016 gap on the points but i'd like to make it right some one must know. thanks guys

The tall distributer cap should be Napa p/n ECH RR162, unfortunately it looks like a 1953 GMC distributor could have a short or tall cap, at least according to my Echlin catalogue, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 15 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 15 | that helps a lottt thank you
