I do have an assembly manual - but I have to admit its a bit confusing and right now I'm just getting pieces ready to go with the frame to be powder coated. I'm pretty sure it goes on the back end and has something to do with the pieces under the bed, but I'm not sure. This is one of those things the guy had with the truck that was just lying in the front seat. Someone had already taken all the box and rear fenders off when I got it. Anyone know? Just to ask though, any idea where it goes as far as from the cab to the rear bumper? It's got those two little "boxes" on it that none of the other pieces have. Any idea?

| | | | | Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 164 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 164 | The "boxes" take the long bolts that go through a wood bed slat with an acentric drilled hole and a star washer to "lock it in place" then through the hole to line it up and then through a block of wood that keeps the bed off the frame, all the small drilled holes are where the bed wood bolts go through, a pre drilled wood bed set was pretty easy to install. If you look at my flicker link it might give you a better idea. I used POR 15 on mine to stop the rust process. I actually just leafed through the entire factory assembly manual while having a couple beers. I didn't see it, so I must have missed that section. I don't know if I'm just not smart enough or what, but that book just intimidates me. Well, that and the fact that my wife just told me she's pregnant again, so my mind was kind of wandering :-) I knew something was up when I had a beer, my aunt had a glass of wine and my wife had a pop. That piece is the rear sill for a 3/4 ton truck, 51-53. It looks like a good one, well worth restoring. Mar-Ktech | | |
