Been lookin' for radials for my truck - did not want to pay $250 per tar (Coker or Universal). Finally found the diameter and width I need to keep stock height and clear tie rod ends. It's a 195 80r 16 - now I need to spring for those 16" wire wheels!! Speakin' of wheels, can powder coat be done in any color?

Yep - powder coat colors have the same range as that squirt stuff. Difference is what a powder coater stocks for current production. Check around to see what they have available and you'll come across a color you can live with. I found one really close to a Brewster Green

What brand/model tire is it? That sounds like an obsolete size, or possibly a European passenger car size. You might want to verify the load capacity before you commit to them, too low of a capacity can end up with premature tire failure, namely from the sidewall giving out.

I've done some quick research. Seems that size is only used as an oem tire on electric powered RAV-4s, and are not reccomended for anything else. I would be very concerned with using them on a truck, as they are not designed for that application.

My truck has a total weight of 1610# on front wheels and 1380# on rear wheels. The tire I am looking at has a load rating of 1600# per tire. Surely that would be OK. The only thing I haul is a cooler of beer, fold out chair, and a good lookin' babydoll once in a while.

Well, i will go out on a limb here and will haul the load for U if you promise the beer is cold and the chair is comfortable. U can keep the baby doll. My wife can shoot.
If you can distractd my wife, I might furnish cigars. I have tires and wheels for trading stock.

While it may have the load rating, that tire is not constructed for light truck use. I've seen tires with a load rating that seemed ok for a truck that didn't haul anything fail, due to having the wrong construction. Good case in point, we had a kid come in the shop with a '72 C20 with split rims, which he replaced with single peice 16" wheels, plus tires. He didn't want the proper LT tire, he wanted a Passenger rated tire. Within a month, he had blown out the sidewalls of all 4 tires. Granted, in addition to being P rated, they were undersize (he though they looked "cool" ), but they were rated for the weoght of the truck without a load.
