However, many of the reproduction parts vendors sell spark plug wires like these - no cover/insulation at the plug end and all with 90 degree plug ends. These were used in earlier years on trucks, through 1953? I've never used them, the right length wires lay nicely
I think the reason you see the angled end sets for the I-6 is they're what has to be used on the V8 and suppliers are too lazy/cheap to make or stock 2 breeds

I've been working most of this year with silicone and casting resins to come up with gaskets for the '54-'55 radios speakers. Also knobs that fit like the original ones, support brackets, driver side pads for converting the passenger radios to truck, the speaker supports, special nuts and spacers, ammeter fuse holders. This week I'm making the molds for the rubber bumpers for the Fresh Air defroster doors and the tool box keyhole plugs under the seat of the '54 and a few other non important little details.
So if I get a chance I just might draw up those two original style plug wire holders and see if it's practicle to cast them in semi-ridged urethane. Looks like the front one is for 2 wires and the rear one holds 3 wires.

Great link Thank you! I will save this one for when I restore the 65 Convert VW bug  Pertronix sells a black set also ..link... I ordered that set from pertronix but the lengths were off and some of the wires were to long. I didnt like the boots either. The best fitting set I found were autolite. Only problem was they are orange. If only I could find that autolite set in black. ...auto lite wires... I also tried the shiny black ones the vendors sell. They look more original but it was a shocking experience. Only used them for a day ...pic... Good Luck | | |
