How do you wire up two wiper motors? My truck has two electric wiper motors, and each has it's own hot wire going to it's own switch, and then to each motor. I'm rewiring everything, and wanted to use just one hot wire and one switch to control both motors.

Will this work? I'm thinking because they don't automatically park, I'd never be able to get them to be parked at the same time, know what I mean? I guess that's the reason they each had their own switch to begin with. Or is there another reason?

What kind of truck, and what year are you talking about? That arrangement can't be original on any stovebolt I can remember!

Sorry, it's my 40 1/2 ton. Somewhere along the way someone put electric wiper motors up behind the header panel. Each motor has it's own hot wire feeding it and it's won switch, so they're independent of each other. It's just a basic on/off switch. There is only one speed (as far as I know), and they don't self park.

originally the switches [vacuum] were on the motors and sticking out the cover plate, I'd be inclined to put electric switches there, and one for each as they won't always both be needed and will not stay in synch anyway so be harder to park together .... if you want to run one hot wire to both make sure you have heavier wire and fuse each after you split to the 2 motors wink

Thanks, yeah I guess I'll just do it they way the were, a separate circuit for each motor. I bought a universal wiring harness and of course there is only one wiper circuit, but there are enough extra circuits that I won't be needing, like power windows, that I can use for the other wiper motor I guess.
