Folks -

For those of you that hadn't heard, our poor Matilda, a 47 1 Ton was ATTACKED by a large Oak last October. She was still drivable, but the cab roof was dented up pretty bad, and the tailgate was torn off. Poor thing looked like she'd been in a bar fight.

We've finally gotten around to starting the work on her, and have discovered a few other "issues". The floor under the seat is perfed through with rust, but the cab corners seem to be okay.... An acquaintance has a trashed truck with a good cab (1/2 or 3/4T), but I don't know if the cabs are swappable.

Year of manufacture issue aside, are 1 ton cabs the same as the lighter trucks? Am I nuts?

I'll get some pics posted - we've started bumping out the roof and other small insults that were wrought upon us.

I discovered a couple of bondo'd up holes in the fenders where turn signals had been mounted... I thought that they were mounted on the horn rails of the front bumper valance. What is "correct"? I'd appreciate any help you all can provide.

TIA,

John

Cabs are the same, 1/2 ton through 2 ton, exept for the LCF trucks.
Pretty much every aftermarket turn signal I've ever seen that used the "lollipop" style tights (instead of converting the factory parking lamps) mounted to the tops of the fenders. If the holes on you truck were just filled with body filler, you'll want to remove the filler and weld the holes up. Bondo doesn't do well filling holes, as it wasn't designed for that purpose.

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.
Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.
