I just bought some 15x8 rally 6 lug wheels off of a 72 Blazer 4x4 to go on my 55.1 series 1/2 ton. Im running stock wheels at this time with 6.50x16 tires. The 6.50x16 are around 29" in dia. I put a 235x75x15 tire on the 15x8 and there to short and a little narrow. Need to know what would be the right size for the 15x8 and get me to 29" dia and about 9" to 10" wide. Thanks for any help in this matter.

A 245x75 is 29.5 and a 255x75 is 30". Either would get you close.
Or look on here for different tires.
http://www.tirerack.com/

They show several in 265x70 which are 29.5".

235/75/15 was the oem size used on the 15x8 Blazer Rallye wheels, with a 10.00-15 or 31x10.50x15 as the option, depending on year.
I would suggest a 30x9.50x15, which will get the size you need without getting into obsolete tire sizes. I'm running that size on a set of Rallyes on mine.
