on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 13 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 13 | In my rush and excitement to buy parts for my 54, I seem to have purchased a front bumper apron that is for the 47-53 trucks. How will it look with the 54 grille? If you bought a new (reproduction) front apron, maybe the vendor will allow you to swap, as long as you pay shipping?

Mark, I bought it bolted to a chrome bumper and brackets for $100 when I was visiting family in Fla. Funny thing... The brackets were for the rear. Thought I was buying a whole front setup. Went to buy the front brackets recently, and the guy gave me two right side. I'm learning to second guess any part I buy for this truck. Luckily Pate swap meet is this weekend. As Tim pointed out, pretty significant differences. The 54 is shaped differently and tucks under the grill slightly. Also the license plate brackets are different. Good luck finding the perfect parts this weekend. See if you can find the "dummy" center bolt. It is a steel bolt covered with a thin stainless cap and secured with a spring nut. http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/blog/2010/02/lost-bumper-bolt/ | | | | | Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 13 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 13 | Thanks for the info and the pictures.
