I have a 65 c10. It had the powerglide tranny with a two piece driveline.I want to convert to a th 350 or 400 with a one piece driveline. Do I need a longshaft or a shortshaft tranny?

The longer the rear housing on your transmission, the shorter will be the driveshaft. Shortest shaft is the best, so I say go with the long rear housing, I always have done that.
