Hi guys; can anyone tell me what this vin translates to. It appears to be odd from what I can find on line. It's on the title of a 1955 chev half ton pu 1st series that I just bought. The truck was restored in the 80's and the door pillar plate was removed to paint a new color.

that's the engine number, which is mostly what was used back then to register a vehicle .... if it doesn't still have that original engine installed you have some work to do with titling to prove the title really belongs to the truck

BC1,my advice,would be you need to check with your local BMV,and see what they would need to clear that situation.Just remember all states are different,mostly a matter of making it legal. I am in the same situation,with my vehicle,the reason I am commenting.If you work with the Title people,at your local BMV,they have been real helpful,for me,just time consuming.Good Luck.

Agreed. The number is correct for a '55 1rst 1/2 ton.
