I'm getting ready to install a fuel line on my 1949 chevy truck. The guy how had it before me used a fuel hose from the tank to the pump.I have 5/16 brake line and want to mount the line to the frame. There isn't a clear picture in any of my shop books. I purchased a shut off valve for the tank and the male openning in the valve looks like a brake compression fitting. Do you run the hard line from the tank to the pump or is there a break somewhere for rubber? any help and pictures will be a big help!
Thank you for your help!

Original was a short pre made flex hose with inverted flare fittings, then the steel line in the frame all the way to the pump.

Just a note,

The fuel filter at that location was there when my Dad bought the truck in 73.

I left it at the location but others place it after the fuel pump up by the carb.

Good Luck
