Is the whole underside treated?
My '50 had very little from what I could see,is it possible a previous owner has done it?
What little there was on mine scraped off with a single edge razor blade, it was baked solid by the So-Cal sun.
It actually came off in flakes.

It is a sonic vibrator and the knife blade takes off undercoating easily. The undercoat was a way up on the lower part of the firewall. http://www.pbase.com/dennygraham/image/116749957 WD-40 is mostly just kerosene so that will work just as well and it’s cheaper. You’ll use up a lot of rags but you won’t scratch up the paint if its good under the coating. DG

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 1,362 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 1,362 | For a good scraper that won't hurt paint etc. the harbor freight plastic scrapers are nice, I use them for lots of things, like removing old windshield rubber etc. Plastic is the best way to go
if you don't want to damage stuff. Hot pressure wash and steam cleaning takes it off too, if I remember, long time sice doing that.
