If I want to swap out an inline 6 out of a 65-66 do I need different mounts? If not what other(60-64) do not need other mounts? Any concerns once I make the swap? If I want to attach a 700r4 to the 327 any concerns. Will any year 700r4 hook up to the mid sixies 327? If not what years are the best? Thanks

The straight six motors in the 4-5-6 Chevy trucks, used the same frame-to-engine perches, as their V8 counterparts, minus the extension, that fills in the void from the straight side walls of the six cylinder casting, in lieu of the "V" configuration of the 283 & 327 motors.

I see you are in Kansas. My shop is in Kansas City, KS, so call or come by sometime and I will show you the difference...seeing is believing.

Welcome to the Stovebolt. There is an abundance of information, expertise and good people on this site. Post early and often and tell your Chevy truck buddies about this great site.

except for the 292 I6 which takes a different r/side engine perch. you will have to remove the crossmember under the bellhousing and install a crossmember and rear mount under the tailshaft of the 700r4. the later 700r4 utilize an electronic speedo which you will have to deal with . the earlier ones used a std speedo gear. one can rebuild the earlier trans to do whatever that you want
