I thought I could change the top of the pump only to find the actual pump inside had disintegrated. I bought the replacement pump from LMC only to have more problems. The pump would not always turn on when pressing the button and when it did turn on, the wheel would turn, but not all the way to turn off the pump.
My question: I plan to use a universal pump next to the original inside the cab instead. Can I use any of the existing wires to power the pump or do I have to run new wires from the existing switch?

One wire is hot all the time, when the ign. switch is on, & it grounds through the button.

I thought I was going nuts when I discovered the wiper motor was positive when the key was on. Thanks for confirming this.
I will wire the positive of the new pump to the wiper motor and figure out which wire for the old pump is the switched negative.
