I don't uses RTV much at all and never on an old original truck. Why? Chevrolet didn't use it on them.
Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks. Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.

I just installed a new fuel pump on my 51 and sprayed the paper gasket with that copper spray.

I don't spray anything on them. If its something you don't want to leak permatex it. I guess the inner edge could be treated with shelac, or a film of sealer, is that what you are refering to?
