Has anyone found a heater core that will work in a Airflow/Fresh air heater? I can't afford $225.00+ for a heater core. Surely there's something out there that can be retro-fit.

if you have a bad/leaky core take it to a rad shop and see if they can re-core it, should be a bit cheaper

Does your heater have the narrow side vent door like the 54 heater? The cores sre different. I have been going through a similar headache but may be able to help if your heater does not have that door?

Greg, thanks, but mine is an Airflow out of a '54, so it does have the vent door.

Recoreing costs almost as much as a new core. I was really hopeing that out of all the hundreds or thousands of heater cores out there we might be able to find something that works and wont break the bank.
