I have always "scratch" wired my other projects. The wire is very good quality and is marked every foot. Like Boltbuster mentions,its well marked.
I had to make a small adjustment for the rear lights/turn signals due to UK law but other than that it was EZ!
I used New Vintage gauges,and apart from a small error on my part now work perfectly.
