I now seem to have a steady drip of oil. Its farther back so I know its not the drain plug on the pan.
Rock Auto carries the Fel Pro gasket #BS5048. Its a "Rope Type" rear main seal. Its only $4!
Is this easy to install?
I also think my motor mount is bad in my '59. The engine moves alot more then my '51. Advance Auto has a front motor mount listed for my '51, but not for my '59. Any ideas?

The manufacturer of the 1951 mounts I found to be Anchor Industries. They make the front and rear molded mounts: Advance sells em, Rock Auto sells em, and im fairly certain that Jim Carter sells the same ones.
I went to the Anchor site and confirmed the PN. I also could not find a listing for ANY 1959 truck part. Looks like Jim Carter has a separate source for those.

| | | | Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 108 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 108 | The rope seal is not easy to install with the engine installed, however it can be done. The trick is, lot's of patience and a "sneaky pete" installation tool (KD-492) (follow the directions provided with the installation kit.) They can be found at many after market jobbers. In most cases, loosening the main caps to allow the crankshaft to drop slightly will help. Rotate the crank in the direction in which the rope is being drawn into the seal crevice on the rear of the engine block and use plenty of lubricant on the rope seal. I used assembly lube, and slowly worked the seal into the groove with a small screwdriver as the crankshaft was being turned by hand.
