Has anyone done the front conversion on an earlier Advance Design 3/4-ton? Is the front just as easy as on a 1/2-ton?
I'll be reworking the front end of my '48 one of these days and it's logical to give a look at the conversion there.

I just picked up some '53 3/4 ton Bendix front brakes from a fellow bolter to replace my Hucks. Looks to me to be a simple bolt in swap. I haven't installed them yet, I have to do my king pins first. The Bendix fronts are also larger...12" dia. compared to the 11" Hucks. '53 to '55 should be a bolt in, maybe even to '59, but I'm not sure...my parts book only goes to '55.

My 235/85/16's just barely clear the tie rod ends now. I guess I'll just have to try it. 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. By the way...what is a comfortable top speed for you with those tires and the 261/4.10 setup? Also...what dual res m/c are you using? Thanks...

My own personal comfortable top speed is about 45 MPH but that says mostly something about me driving the '48. It could do a lot more, engine-wise. I've never put a tach on it but I might this weekend.
For the dual MC, I used the adapter plate from CPP and an MC from NAPA. 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years.
