I have check with my local brake guys and have had no luck finding someone to reline the trans mounted e brake on my 57 GMC one ton. They only told me they would send it out to see if the place they use could do it and they would then price it out. There best guess was $70-$100, that sounds offal high to me considering I just had two steering bands relined for $65 both of them were bigger than this e-brake. Any advice as to where to get the material and rivets or someone who can reline it for me will be appreciated.

I don't know if ur brake is the same as my 52, but when I had my shoes relined at Springfield Brake it cost me 54 bucks.

If you're referring to the band-type brake that wraps around the drum at the back of the transmission, these pieces should to it. It's not terribly difficult to reline the band- - - -just be careful how deep you countersink the rivet holes. They should be countersunk about 2/3 of the thickness of the lining to prevent the rivet heads from scoring the drum, but still have enough thickness of material to get a good bond between the rivet and the lining material. I use a drill press with a depth stop and a step-ground drill bit to drill the holes for the rivets. It's very simple to set the rivets with a pin punch clamped into the jaws of a vise and a ball-peen hammer.
