Has anyone done this, and if so, can you give me some pointers ? Thanks in advance.

You will have to remove or extensively modify the crossmember under the bell housing. You will need a crossmember under the back of the trans. You can buy a universal type of fabricate one. You will need to measure for the drive shaft after everything is in place & have it modified at a trans shop using the corrisponding yoke. Run a tube or hose from a vacuum source back to the modulator. If you want passing gear on a 350 you will need the cable hooked to the throttle linkage, on a 400 it uses a electric switch. You will need to change the steering column or buse a floor shifter. Run cooling tubes to a cooler in the radiator or an aftermarket cooler. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum

I have looked at 3 sources for crossmembers, but they only have them to fit starting in year 1963 (which I believe is a different frame arrangement than the '62's. Do you have any ideas on a source for a universal crossmember to fit a 1962. Thanks again.
