good morning bolters! will a gmc 270 match up with things on my 50 burb with a 4spd. or would i be better off looking for a 260. Soo many choices on what way to go. so many voices in my mind (it all the prev owners and school kids who rode in ol yeller) springs coming and i want to hit the ground runnen. thanks

Hy scool bus, GMC engines 228,236,248,256,270,302 will all interchange easily in a GMC but they are longer than Chevrolet engines 216,235,261 so the best answer is, if it had a Chevrolet engine in it the easiest replacement would be a Chevrolet engine, hope that helps.

The 270 is a very good choice. Many people have powered Chevies with GMC engines.

It will mate with your bell housing and tranny. The radiator will have to be moved forward. Perhaps you can find a GMC radiator.
