He said I would need to get the engine number, transmission number and the chassis number. I can’t find the chassis number. Here is what it looks like on the truck ... If you have a manual transmission it my not have an Engine Serial No. tag like mine ... When the CHP officer inspected my truck in the early 90's this is what he looked for so it could be registered because the DMV said the truck had fallen of their records...

It has a separate casting number that begins with GM. When I entered the number on the door post into Vin buster it said my 54 is a 61. It looks like an original tag. The casting number of the engine shall give you an idea of the year of the engine (looking in Inliners.org).
