Wonder if anyone can advise me on this, as im not sure,
My 54 3100 has an underbed gas tank from a 71 ford torino. it fits pretty good, but the sender unit is bad. I have brought a autometer gauge with the correct ohms to run with the ford sender, but i need a new sender. I cannot find one here in the UK ,so can i use a mustang one from around the same year as i can pick one of those up here rather tham importing one.
Or any other ideas?

unfortunately the universal sender units are for bolt fixing,
where mine is held in place by a lockring.
Also the Torino units are in the back edge of the bottom of the tank, which means the tank has to be drained before you can get at it PITA!!!

i think i will get a mustang one and have a go, shame it is not a chevy sender, it would have been far easier to work something out!
