I need a good install plan ,with good pictures of transmission and motor, for a newport engineering windshield wiper system. Does anyone have one or know of a good resource? I have a 1952 Chevy Pickup.

This is the Newport model that clears the stock choke, May not be the same as yours.

The Pic with the tape measure has the transmissions arms installed incorrectly.

Thanks to Dads50 for the fantastic pictures. Newport Engineering sent me some good drawings as well.

The instructions Newport provides are very good.

I did use longer 10/32 screws and large washers instead of the screws that came in the kit. Got the screws at the hardware store.

I had to adjust the park on my motor.

Once you get it mounted and transmission arms installed you may want to run a wire and check for binding on the arms.

If your using the stock choke cable install it and check for interference.

Newport sells two kits for AD trucks. One will interfere with the choke and maybe original radio.

NE4753CCT clears the choke, NE4753CT will not.

This thread makes me SICK!!!
I have been following it for a while and had decided New Port was the best and the only one for me. However as I was going through all my parts bought months ago I found the electric wiper motor from LMC I had forgotten I had bought. I sure hope this works out as I don't want to invest in another motor.

I think Newport Engineering may have improved on their wiper system.
I'm currently using The Specialty Power Windows Wiper System, which has worked perfectly for the past 4 years of everyday use.
Prior to that the Newport system didn't last more than 3 years, problems with motors and switches of everyday use.

Not to beat a dead horse........but my Newport Delay box that I added to my Newport wiper motor has a mind of it's own.....the vendor recommended "adjusting" the wiper motor!!! Obviously, he had never had any experience with the non-adjustable module and was hoping I would just let him off the hook. They weren't at all interested in offering me a replacement module to make my system "right." So it "wipes" correctly about 50% of the time and the rest of the time it "parks" itself where ever it wants and you have to cycle the switch to get it back to wiping.

Let the buyer beware!!!!!

So does Newport sell direct or thru dealers?

both, but usually the vendors don't specify if they stock Newport or Chinese knock offs, so ask!
