He says he doesn't know if it will work for my 1949 chevy truck. Is there any differents in the frame rails on the trucks from 47 to 53 ?

Half ton (Y's) out after the cab and the 3/4 ton goes straight back. The front is the same but the rear where the springs mounr are different, like I said unless the one I got is a 1 ton. I bought this other frame because my 1/2 ton was too rusted. This frame is heavier and longer but I was just going to shorten it to fit a 1/2 ton. The "54 1/2 ton frame is slightly different, but the front part is the same.
3/4 ton frame is entirely different and so is the 1 ton frame.
So you have 3 different frames, in width, length, frame rail height, rear spring mounts, area over the rear axle etc. Cab mounts are totally different on the '48 also. | | |
