I should have taken a picture, but don't have it yet. Anyway, it is a small black box app 3x5" that has 1 hose going into one end and 2 going in the other with essentially a choke cable coming from the shifter to the box. I have not had a chance to trace all the hoses, but it looks like the 2 go towards the rear axle and the one comes from the front. I know, pretty pitiful info for you, but i wanted to ask while i was thinking about it. My question is, has anyone else seen one of these, and is the operation going to be the same as the original? I'll try to get a picture of it if it is light enough when i get home.
thanks

About the only way to test it would be to fire the truck up and see what happens when you try to shift the axle. It may not work, but then you could trace down what is actually not functioning. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 | Sounds like the stock vacuum switch setup used from 1955 2nd and up. Is it mounted to the top of the transmission on the drivers side? The ones I've seen have 4 hose ports. 3 large and 1 small. The 3 large ports are for Main Vac Supply, Hi to the rear and Lo to the rear. The small port connects to the 2-speed adaptor on the back of the speedometer which keeps the speedometer in calibration when you shift the rear from Hi to Lo and back. All of mine are natural metal color, not black, but yours could have been painted at some time. Pictures will help... I'll get a picture of it so we can quit guessing. jason
