Got new rubber molding to install headliner in 56 3200. Is there a trick to this - very difficult?
New moldings appear to be bigger.

That rubber is a beotch to install. I ended up going a different route.

You are sure right on the pain on installing the molding. The young fellow who paints my cars and truck stoped by. He said that he has had problems like this before. We decided to try a small piece of the extra and trimed the top of the round tubing off and it worked great 10 min done. He said if it feels loose in places he would smooth a touch of silicone to the bottom of the tube area. Was not needed as we had to tap the rubber in all the way around. He worked each corner a little extra. I have a link to pictures. Note the difference in size of the new stuff (larger). Look at the end sections. The new molding was already trimed when picture taken. To trim we clamped in vise and I held it tight while he trim with a new razor knife - 5 min job. Checked it this morning and still loos great. The deal breaker for me on the original style trim was that it appeared to me that you had to use some pretty thin material in the headliner to get it all together and installed. I wanted something thicker so it wouldn’t sag with time.
