The truck is setting there bare with nothing but the cab, and the existing rear.
I will be welding in the IFS this weekend and setting the 350 down on the front end. to gain actual ride height on the front.
once this is done I want to drop the existing rear end and make ready for the 9inch. Point is I'd like to build to the rear end (setting on rubber) and set the appropriate rake...on the frame.
of course taking into account for eventual bed weight, gas tank (approx 20 gal) and spring compression to bring me to a final 3 to 5 deg rise. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 319 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 319 | Have you thought about air bags?

What degree of rake are you looking for? Do you know what size rims and tire you are going to run? Hoping not to sound like a smart [censored], but do you have some guys helping you that have done this before? The pitfalls of JUST welding in a frontend are many. For sure, these guys are here to help but there's no substitite for an old grease monkey with an eyeball on the build. Good luck.

I had a mock up set of wheels on the rear also. I used a TCI IFS and followed the instructions, and called them with some questions a few times. Then I played with my measurements on the IFS. Made my markings, then took everything off, put the frame on blocks with the same height and tack welded the ifs in. Put everything back on the frame and checked everything out before final welding! That's how I did it. It worked for me. Check out the photos on my site, not many of the frame, but you can see our ride height and the centering of our wheels in the fender openings. I am sure others have done it differently, but it worked for me!
