Thanks http://www.classicindustries.com/co...stAs=1&startRow=91¤tPage=7bottom l/s page part #G2423 @ $13.99 there is a GM part nbr if you want it, but I doubt that there are many avail and if you do find them I think that they are about $27.. ea.The current part# that has be used was a superseded nbr that was used from late 60's suburbans and panel and then for blazers and jimmies into the early 2000's. the nbr supersedes from the 60-66 version. same dimensions car and truck carry them along with a few others to, but believe that they now originate from classic industries and you may find them for a little less at other places your truck will require 16 of the I believe http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=341010&page=7ron

How do you use these with 3/8 or so bolts and the large diameter metal tubes that go through the mount? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 | Don those are the stock rubbers in the pic that I took out of my 65 ambulance( just like new). they do have that tubular spacer that goes inside of them. the metal plate that is vulcanized to th other side is for a 3/8 bolt ron

I have seen neither the old ones(new) or the new ones so I can't really tell you if there is any difference in the size of the hole. I do have enough insulators myself that are like new and if they sag at all then I guess that I will buy new ones. one can buy or could a few years ago rubber of that density and thickness, so I don't really see why one couldn't make their own and laminated a steel plate onto them , you would just be missing that interlocking lip between the top and bottom insulator. I thought that you were past that in your truck and that you made your own ron | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 | aha the same sleeves and rubbers for all the rear ten mounts in the back of the burb! just the bolts and washers are different for the back 6! but the question is how do you know the right size bolts, the assembly manual only shows bolt 3 bolt 4 etc. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 | holy cow 20 rubbers at $20.00 each???? anyone found them cheaper? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 | thought i had them made but the interlocking half circle is important to keep them from moving in the frame holes. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 | holy cow 20 rubbers at $20.00 each???? anyone found them cheaper? they are $13.00 at source that I linked to above ron | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 | aha the same sleeves and rubbers for all the rear ten mounts in the back of the burb! just the bolts and washers are different for the back 6! but the question is how do you know the right size bolts, the assembly manual only shows bolt 3 bolt 4 etc. just measure ron | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 | thought i had them made but the interlocking half circle is important to keep them from moving in the frame holes. I think that A fellow could improvise on that to overcome that problem, but takes time to make. one could turn polyurethane bushings with a lip and then cut 1/2 the lip off. 1 top and bottom. would would just need access to a wood lathe to turn the p/u bushings. i have a machinist lathe and 2 good wood lathes, so I don't look at that as a problem. just leave room for them to move inside the insulator. you may want to make the hole a little larger in your insulator to take the bushing ron | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 | dammm none in stock at classic! anyone know of the right aftermarket set that would do the same job/dimensions? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 | would need an aftermarket cab set as well to match

Are the G2423 the same that will fit a 66 model?
Thanks | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 | "Ron, this is Lewis. Please forgive me for not getting back sooner, but I have been busy in my work for the church I serve. I checked both my 65-66 parts manual and my 67-72 parts manual. This is what I discovered: 1964-6 body mounts are p/n 3794779, w/dimensions of 1.76" w; 3.00" l; 0.92" thick, needing 8 (up & lwr same). The 67-8 p/n is 3909351 up & lwr, 69-72 uses 3909351 as the lwr, but p/n 3946246 is the upr. No dimensions are given for these cushions, and it seems that the frame changed in '69. Qty's in 67-8 are 16, with 69-72 requiring 10 of each. If you have dimensional access to the later cushions, these 64-66 dimensions should help you. Like you, I suspect that the 67-8 cushions will work, but there is no superseded p/n's between the body styles. I can tell you that years ago I bought cab mounts for my 65 and the p/n's had superseded to the mounts for the 67-72 cabs. I hope that this info is of some assistance in answering this question.
the dimensions sound right. the .92" high includes the raised section around the bolt hole. The measurement excl the raised section is between about .73-.74" high."
I have no reason to doubt Lewis as he is usually right on with his parts now I have not seen the new ones, but if the centre hole is larger(and I don't know whether or not it is), it does seem to be an easy fix as I stated above; there are always times that things have to be modified to work a little better ron | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 | Well I guess I'm totally confused now! All of my mounts were about 1/2 inch thick, I just got the "cab mounting kit" from LMC and the cab mount rubbers are much thicker than 3/4. did they use different cab mounts on the burbs? All mine were the rectangular ones. I guess what i'm asking is should I order a bunch of cab mount kits and use them to maintain the right spacing? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 | dammm whole bunch of NOS ones just hit ebay! right after I spent a week online looking and found 20. Oh well lolol heres the link to the mounts!

I used the 67 and up mounts, they go good in the 1 1/4 holes, for the others I cut off the half moon interlocking rubber pieces and used lengths of heater hose and spacers that fit in the holes, 5/16 bolts in all and the bodies ON!!!!!!!!!!! | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 335 | By the way the cab mounting kits with the big washers, THE BOLTS AREN'T LONG ENOUGH IN THE FRONT FLOOR MOUNTS!!!! | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 | your having your share of fun are you not ron | | |
