Think i'd rather rebuild this truck again rather than figure out how to post pic's. If i did it right here it is. If not, well...later. Thanks to cold winters, a heated shop, leverage, hydraulics, and all the help from Stovebolters. Oh yeah, I have installed the mirror and tail lights but not taking her out in the rain for another photo shoot.
Thanks Stovebolt, your the greatest.

Hmmm, New Guy?? I was an `Apprentice at last posting. Guess I don't gab enough....
Thanks guys, a little positive feedback from peers makes it all worthwhile. Plus the added benefit of finding a long lost twin in CA...:) Just can't help myself and already started on my "65".
Erik your pic's look painfully similar of the rust repair/welding I have ahead of me...Oh well, what's any better to do...

It was a LOT more work than I thought it owuld be, but I see the light at the end of teh cab repair tunnel now....Just finished the passenger side floor plan last night, I think one or two more good Saturdays out in the shop and I'll have the cab welding licked....

wasat, thanks, what works for me is try to do something every day, no matter how minor. Even if its thinking something out it keeps you tuned in. And, never set a completion date. Then its just another job.
erik, yeah the metal on the 65 is more, shall we say, flimsey than the 53. Lots of extra plates and do-dads to deal with. Looks very similar to yours as far as what needs attention but don't see any show stoppers....just a little extra to deal with.
Trying to get it thru sandblasting so I know what to pick up at Spring Carlisle. Hate to pay shipping if i don't have to.

Yea I am dealing with the doors right now. They always look good in primer but the run of the hand feels every ding, bump and who leaned on or shut the door with a heavy foot. I have done more sanding, feeling, adjusting, spot prime, sanding feeling...aghh. I do have to take breaks and work on something else (brakes right now) to take breather on the doors. Then I look at the bed sides and sigh. But I know I will start on the tail gate first since I have a lady that I always give fresh eggs to (free) who's dad is a pinstripe and sign painter,I have one thing I want on my tail gate (not letting the cat out of the bag)if I can get that done I will have all the inspiration I need for the rest of the project. What a great payback for the years of,
home before sunset and lock us in and so many tasty fresh eggs my girls have given me all these years. Who says chickens don't pay??

THANK YOU !!!
I didn't sandblast the frame myself and got help with the seat cover. The rest is my fault.
Here's some more of her.

That's quite a handsome truck. I've always liked that color...Ocean Green?
What size/type tires are you running?

You got it..Ocean Green, and the origonal color.
Tires were a bit of a challenge. I intended to use radials all along but didn't know about the 4 1/2 inch wheels till I was ready for tires. So I said OK I'll just go back to bias. Then found out they aren't made except by specialty shops. Ended up getting 6:50-16's from Speciality Tires of America, that's the old McCreary Tire Co. Indiana, PA. Pretty reasonable but they don't sell direct..Lucky enough to have a distributor about an hour away.
