Hello,
I'm trying to verify if I have the original engine (216) so I can track down parts, specs etc. It's a 1946 1.5 ton with an engine code prefix of "BF". It's a nice clear legible stamping. I can't decifer the code on any of the websites. (Hemming's, Inliner's etc.) It is an interm model, so could it be a leftover military unit that made it into a civilian truck, or maybe a GM replacement engine?

Thanks.

Code BF comes up as a '42 216 built at Flint, 1 1/2 ton application, possibly with a heavy duty clutch.

A 42, well that's interesting, thanks, I appreciate the response.

In 1942, engine prefix BF could also be
1 ton or School Bus.
