I have heard that you can put a 1970 and up spindal on a 63 truck. I want to do this so that I can have disc brakes and an 8 lug rotor. The 63 suspention is going on my 59 gmc so that i can have ifs and easyly air bag it with the trailing arm rear. I want an 8 lug pattern for the work truck look.

For disk brakes you'll need a '71-'87 (some '88-'91 Suburban and R30 models, too) spindles to get disk brakes. You'll need to swap the balljoints to the later units to do the swap. Moog #s K6122 upper, K6129T lower.

The 63 suspension will not work under the 59.
Your frame is to wide for the ifs.The 59 frame is 34 in.wide and the 63 is only 30 in.wide.
You may want to get a Nova or Camaro ifs,I used a Nova under a 55 3100 and it worked good.

I have done what you want to do several times but you need to start with the frame for a 73 or later 3/4 ton truck.1/2 ton frame will worktoo if you want to use 5-lug bolt pattern wheels instead of 8-lug wheels. Then graff the two frames together just forward of the front cab mount.I usually install a scab plate on the inside of the frame channel ,then weld a boxing plate about 16" or longer, running with the length of frame so that the weld joint is in the center of the boxing plate.
