I am trying to find information on my truck Vin number.
Everything I have found talks about completely different numbers then what I have.
I am thinking this is maybe because my truck was made in Canada.
The Vin plate says "General Motors of Canada Limited".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hy Kennyjr, welcome, it would be very helpful if you would post the number you have found, your serial number should be something like 41423----, which breaks down as follows
4 - year, in this case 1954
1423 - 3/4 ton, 5800lbs. g.v.w., 125" wheelbase
---- - the remainder of the number is your trucks regular production number, hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply.
The number is 41433014XX, what does the code 1433 mean?
Thanks again for the help.

Hy Kennyjr, your serial number indicates that you actually have a one ton truck. 41433 breaks down as follows
4 - year 1954
1433 chassis with cab, 8,800 lbs. g.v.w., 137" wheelbase, hope that helps

Thanks again for the info.
Here is my Vin tag and weight tag, but from what you said they do not match.
Is that correct?

Hy Kennyjr, the book lists the g.v.w. for the maximum tire equipment, I had a quick look, and could find no reference to a 6900 lb. g.v.w. in my 54 maintenance manual. With all the maximum equipment your truck has a maximum g.v.w. capacity of 8800 lbs., hope that clarifies.

I will see if there is maybe something the Ministry can do to help me out.
