I have '64 GMC longbed stepside, and I've always had repair manuals for my vehicles.

Which is the one to get? From what I've gathered, there is a 1962 shop manual out there, and a 1964 supplement. Are both needed?

I've also seen a CD with electronic versions of the manuals for 1962-1963-1964 GMC Pickup and Truck Shop Manual CD. I like this option, because although I like a physical manual, I also like to print off the pages I need to take to the garage. Anyone have this, and is it worth it? This has manuals that don't really pertain to me, so is kind of overkill. I'd like to just find a PDF of the manual for my truck, but it doesn't seem to be out there.

Are these my two options, or is there something else out there I'm missing that I should get?

mweishaa, what you need is a 63 manual with the 64 supplement.
Also, you should get the factory assembly manual.
If you want to stay stock and add options, there is an options manual as well.
I personally don't have the CD although your point is valid.

Whoa, I stand corrected. I didn't catch that you had a GMC. My advise works for a Chevy.

Jon S, thanks! I've been all over that site so I'm not sure how I missed that.

It outlines it nicely, but no real opinion on how good they are. It does say that the assembly manual wouldn't be of much use to a GMC owner. That right there is very valuable feedback.

I may look into those, and do some checking to see if the CD version contains these. Anyone have the CDs and care to comment on their quality/completeness? Feel free to PM me.

Well, got the CD today with the 4 manuals on it in PDF format.

Seems to be pretty good quality, I am sure they'll be put to good use. The only thing is that it contains all engines and has several supplements. If I find the time, I may try to put together just the pages for my truck into one PDF so I don't have to do quite as much searching across the manuals.

For $30 + shipping, I think it was well worth it.
