The truck is a 56 3200 not sure of the trans. It has a 20 pin count.

I called of friend today about the driven gear. He told me to bring out the old one and he would check it against many old ones he had. Found the entire assembly gear and speedometer shaft fitting. Pulled it out of an old trans. It had the green gear and the shaft fitting was almost 1/2" shorter, while mine was longer and metal. He told me to try it because it was correct. I did and it works ok (BY hand rotating the drive shaft). I believe the wrong unit was installed before. Not on the ground yet to drive test. Appears there in auto trans oil in the trans. Is this OK?
