I guess they are around 150 to 180 each. I will disassemble and reassemble with the bed pulled back a foot or so, sitting on blocks on the frame. I don't like help, help usually goofs things up.

And what do you mean don't cut the welds? I will cut them and there is no reason to weld there, as it is bolted too. Right The bed has to come apart to clean it well.

Oh, and those welds at the back? Cut 'em, baby! You can always reweld them later if you want to. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | odd comment Truckolet, considering your "Factory stock is the only way to go" position on another thread I've refurbished 2 fleet beds without disturbing those welds, the one that's been my daily driver for about 15 years and this one that I later soldif there were no reason for it to be welded there the factory wouldn't have wasted the manpower and material do do so Bill | | | | | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 1,362 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 1,362 | Factory stock, yes. But to replace that rear cross still the welds have to be cut. For concourse yeah reweld them. By factory stock I have always meant to make it as close as you can to stock. Of course when you drill spot welds etc you are not factory stock, niether is a big gapping rusty hole either. As soon as you do any fix it thing it is not factory stock. I think it is called RESTORATION. On another note, the long fleet side panels are maybe 80 lbs guessing. I personally had to take the box apart to be able to store the parts inside while they wait their turn.
