OK i bought a couple used doors from a junk yard in minnesota. I was told that they were from a 52 half ton but i suspect that one came off a larger truck. I am wondering if i am correct and can the door be made to work.

The door looks like it had a vent window so that would mean that is is a 52+. Ok so far so good. The door handle/lock is where it gets all goofy. The handle looks to be a single hole versus a 2 hole of a a 52 door handle. in addition there is a lock hole right under the door handle.

So what is this from. I don't think it is form a half ton truck. So my question is will it still fit on the 1/2 ton and if i splice in the old door handle mounts from the old door will the door work? I bought the darn thing to minimize the amount of sheet metal work. Looks like i was wrong LOL.

Sounds like they're from a '51, the only year with the vent window and the turn down style handles. Physicaly, they will fit fine, but the door hardware, handles/locks, will be different.
BTW, the cabs and associated parts are the same 1/2 through 2 ton, exept for LCF truck.

Zleviticus,

If the doors are in good shape, you should be able to sell them. Of course, that does not make up for the disappointment and inconvenience.

As LONGBOX55 posted, 1952-1955-1st doors from any size Chevrolet/GMC standard cab truck will work. COE (Cab Over Engine) doors from the same years will not work (LCF (Low Cab Forward) Task Force trucks became available in late 1955 and have completely different doors).

Thanks all I sold the door today. It is a shame it was a excellent door. What sucks us I bought 2 doors and the one I REALLY needed was the one that was incorrect. Ehh I figure the difference in what I paid and what I sold it for I can consider stupid tax. LOL
