Hello,
I have a 46 "interm" model (1 1/2 ton) that I'm trying to decide which way to go as far as the paint and trim are concerned. As I understand it, no chrome was used on these models, so my questions are,

What color were the grille, hood moldings and door handles painted? (body color, white, grey)

Were the fenders black or the same color as the cab on interms?

Was the interior usually the same color as the exterior?

Did they also use the pin stripe on the hood and around the cab on interms too? Two tone channel bumper?

This thing has had 6 different colors on it over the years. I've tried sanding through the layers, but there's no corresponding pattern between the hood, cab, fenders and interior. I do think it was originally red.

Thanks for any suggestions or tips.

my GMC had chrome, and I think all I've seen have had black fenders and running boards .... not sure but the non-chrome trim would likely have been some variation of white, never body color

Hi oakandiron, I have a 1945 GMC "War Year Truck" that had no chrome.
All the trucks from 41-46 had black fenders & running boards regardless of cab color. On my GMC the grille was painted the cab color, which was Brewster Green.
My windshield frame and door glass frames were Black, and I believe the front bumper was Black also.
The grille on a Chevy, I believe was white.
Im not sure yet about the door handles, I have seen some NOS black door handles on E Bay before so i'm guessing they should be Black.
Mine were missing when I got the truck.

The interior sheet metal on a Chevy was that gold/beige color,
GMC was different.
Mine had the Brown wrinkle finish. It also had Rosewood Tan plastic window crank & door handles.
What color is your interior piece that the seat sits on? Those were the exterior cab color. Chances are yours might still be original color.
